A Christmas Haul

Well, the goal of Christmas was to not get as many gifts and to give to others instead. ha! like that could really happen with my family.
here we go:
In my stockings:
*black nibs (regifted to dad immediately)
*apricot scrub for my face :)
*a santa gause created 'gift certificate' (aka cash) for Borealis! ooh! yarn!
*new toothbrush tops for the spin brush
*a hammer
*vasoline for the lips
*an 11-in-1 tool (scary)
*an 'inspirational' book from mom...
*cd from dad
*a picture hanging kit
i think that's all in the stockings.....

*a pattern a day knitting calendar
*a nativity snow globe (i collect snow globes)
*an angel (ha, my mom thought it was a princess) ornament... very glittery!

*2 hurricane lamps. not quite sure how they work though!!
*Milk and Honey Shower sorbet

*a relaxing bathtime CD

well, i think that's all. it's hard to remember though! I think I made out pretty well!! don't you?


in other news, I have an idea for brian's hat, again... so we'll see if i like this one better. one of these damn hats will turn out the way i think it should look. hopefully!!!

i need to make a few string toys for the cats. tonight/tomorrow.
i need to make at least one tonight.
tomorrow i'm making toys/mice.
they turned out really cute. Tom already pulled the tail off of one of his and he had it for a half hour! jimminy crickets!

i also have to work on brian's hat this weekend. i need to get his going

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, CHRISTMAS!

So, I gave Stacey her secret Santa present today. she loved it! Nic was surprised he made an appearance in it. some might not be surprised. ha. ha. ha. I got some yarn from Heather, how thoughtful!

So I'm currently blocking my gma's table runner... it is not as good as i had hoped it would turn out (blocking wise) but i think it is pretty good. I'd say i did 90% as well as i could have with Amber's help :) Now, i just need to whip up some kitty toys for Thomas Edison (one of the most beautiful cats, ever. I'm in love.) **Note: this is Tom, wearing Nic's sweet orange, possibly crocheted visor. :)

and after the kitty toys, I can sleep.
so, how fast can i knit the '3 blind mice' and 'string toy' from S'n'B Nation? I'd say, i have 3 hours or less...

Don't hassle the Hoff!

I've been avoiding this blog because all I have been doing was knitting, or feeling sick.

But, I'm happy to announce that my knitting has passed the painful part and has been fun again.
I finished Chandler's blanket (although I'm not going to family xmas to give it to him -- mom and dad will be in MI at my Godmother Susie's funeral :( ) Mom bought some HIDEOUS background fabric, but I think I made a big enough deal that she returned it to get something decent. I didn't spend... approximately 36 hours knitting a blanket for her to put some crappy background fabric on it. no way, no how. i took a picture of the final knitted part while it was blocking, but i'll update that tomorrow!

Oma's table runner still needs to be blocked. i'm nervous. I suck at blocking.

I started my secret santa scarf :) it's a pretty quick knit even though i didn't think it would be.

I also started brian's hat. I'm not a huge fan of the yarn... it's knitting up kinda scratchy, so i'm not sure what to do. I think i'm going to keep going and block it and see if that helps. :-/

I have kitty presents to knit too. soon. because xmas is coming up in 10 days. hip. hip. hooray!

I put the icords on dad's hat. it's ready to be wrapped! yay for being done with another project!!

Here's Chandler's baby blanket, thus far at least. i've added some since then but not enough! mom gave me a deadline of 12/10 to finish my part.

and then, just for fun, i learned how to make banana bread, and i decorated my christmas tree! :) merry christmas friends!
